| How
long will my order take to arrive? |
Some items will state an “Arrival Time” in their description. This time is given to you as a courtesy, so you can better understand how long it will take to receive certain items. Because many pieces are handmade or considered a special order, it is important to note that some may take longer to receive than others. Pieces by KABANA generally are shipped within 3 weeks. | Artist Designs |
| Are the Artist Designs actually made by the artist? |
Yes. Because of this, each piece will have its own uniqueness, and no two will look exactly alike. This is what makes each piece truly a work of art. |
| Is there a signature on every Artist Design? |
The works that are a part of the Artist Designs Collection are either signed or stamped by the artist with their signature. This is an important part of jewelry that identifies it as art, and it is usually placed on the back of the piece. |
| Will
I receive a Certificate of Authenticity with my Artist Designed order? |
Yes. A hand-signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase. It is a good idea to keep this Certificate with your piece-it helps to establish the piece as a work of art. |
| What
does “Arrival Time” mean? |
Because many of the pieces are handmade, the description of some items will state an Arrival Time. This is given to you as a courtesy, so you can better understand how long it will take to receive certain pieces. Quality jewelry craftsmanship is a skill that cannot be hurried; therefore we feel that it is important to designate an approximate Arrival Time for your convenience. |

Care |
| How
should I store my jewelry? |
Always store
jewelry in separate compartments, preferably wrapped in a soft cloth
or tissue to avoid scratching. Keeping your sterling silver pieces
in an air-tight container or bag will help prevent tarnishing. |
|
How do I care for my jewelry that has a gemstone set in it? |
Caring for gemstones
is crucial to maintaining the beauty of your jewelry piece. It is
important to note that some gemstones (such as opals) are extremely
fragile, and cannot be placed into an ultrasonic machine. Others (such
as diamonds), are much stronger. To be safe, and ensure that your
stone will not become damaged, we recommend that you simply soak your
jewelry in a bowl of warm soapy water for a few minutes, then use
a very soft non-metallic brush to gently scrub away any grime. It
is recommended that you do not use soap with built-in moisturizers-it
may cause a film on your piece. |
| How
do I care for my Pearl jewelry? |
Pearls are beautiful
and timeless and are very delicate. The lustrous finish on a pearl
is created by layers of natural nacre while the pearl is still in
the shell. These layers are very fragile and easily damaged. It is
important to never use chemicals on your pearls or place in an ultrasonic
machine for cleaning- doing so will cause disintegration. Rather,
use a very mild, non-moisturizing soap and warm water to rinse away
any dirt then dry with a soft tissue. |
| How
do I care for the Sterling Silver items I purchased? |
Caring for your
silver is extremely important. If your item is sterling silver, you
will receive a rouge-treated polishing cloth with your order. As you
use this cloth, the cloth will blacken; this is normal, and simply
means that the cloth is working. Please do not wash the rouge-treated
cloth; washing it will only remove the compound and will no longer
clean your piece efficiently. It is not recommended that you place
the piece in an ultrasonic cleaner. Certain pieces include fragile
stones, and others have a patina on them to enhance the design; placing
the piece in an ultrasonic cleaner may damage the stone or remove
the patina and alter the look of the piece you have chosen. Please
remember, if you have any questions you are always invited to e-mail
us. |
| How
do I care for the Gold items I purchased? |
A mild soap and
some warm water will easily clean your gold piece. If, from regular
wearing, your piece needs further cleaning, you may have it put into
an ultrasonic cleaner. However, if your item has a set stone or other
object as part of the design, placing your piece into an ultrasonic
cleaner may damage or disintegrate the stone. If you have any questions,
please e-mail
us. |
| How
do I care for the Titanium items I purchased? |
Titanium can
be cleaned with a non-abrasive mild soap or jewelry cleaner and warm
water and then dried with a soft tissue or cloth. Always store your
Titanium pieces away from other jewelry to avoid scratches. |

| What
is Sterling Silver? |
At
bethegallery.com we provide only
the best grade of sterling silver in our pieces. For silver to be
considered sterling, the metal must consist of 92.5 percent pure silver
alloyed with 7.6 percent copper. By combining the two metals, the
piece becomes much stronger and wearable. |
|
What is Titanium? |
Titanium is a
very strong and lightweight metal that is metallic silvery-white in
appearance. It is as strong as steel, and 45% lighter. It will not
tarnish, and is a great choice for pieces that are worn daily. Titanium
is also considered to be hypoallergenic. |
| What
is Gold? |
Gold remains
one of the most coveted of all precious metals in the world. Because
of its amazing properties, gold has the ability to be formed into
unique shapes, which other metals resist, and it will not tarnish
or corrode. Because natural gold is extremely soft, it must be mixed
with another metal (usually copper or silver) to make it strong enough
to be worn. For example, pure gold is 24K (karats); 18K gold is 75%
gold and 25% other metals. The lower the karat, the more durable the
piece, however it will appear less yellow in color. |
| What
is White Gold? |
White gold has
very similar properties to yellow gold, but is mixed with different
alloys to give it the white appearance. Diamonds are commonly set
in white gold to enhance the look of the stone. |
| What
is Platinum? |
Platinum is very
rare and more durable than gold, and should not be mistaken for white
gold. Platinum is occasionally mixed with a small amount of other
rare metals such as ruthenium and iridium to add strength. While gold
is sold in karats, platinum is simply stamped with “PT”
to indicate that it is platinum. Many people who are allergic to other
metals find that platinum is a wise choice because of its purity. |
| What is Rhodium? |
Rhodium is a
white, reflective, extremely hard and virtually tarnish proof metal.
White gold is almost always rhodium plated to enhance the pure silvery
color; most white gold jewelry from Italy is rhodium plated. |
| What
are Birthstones? |
Birthstones
are precious or semi-precious gemstones that are considered to bring
good luck during their designated month. For example, if your birthday
is in October, wearing an opal or pink tourmaline is thought to
bring good fortune during the month of October. For this reason,
many people find that giving a birthstone to a loved one for his
or her birthday is the perfect gift. The following chart details
the designated birthstones for each month:

| What
are the 4 Cs? |
Cut.
Cut is perhaps one of the most important aspects of a diamond. The
way a diamond (or other precious or semi-precious stone) is cut, determines
the way light passes through to efficiently reflect the diamond’s
beauty. A high level of accuracy and much skill is necessary to successfully
cut a beautiful diamond. When looking at a diamond, you will want
to see a considerate amount of light being reflected throughout the
stone.
Color.
Diamonds that are truly colorless are extremely rare; many times yellow
or brown can be seen in the stone and these subtle differences in
color can have a rather large impact on its value. A well cut diamond
has the ability to refract and disperse light that will disguise some
traces of coloration. Some sought-after colored diamonds are available
and are considered to be fancy in color; such diamonds include any
color other than colorless to light yellow or brown. In most circumstances,
you will want to find a diamond that is as near-colorless as possible.
Clarity.
Clarity is the evaluation of a diamond's internal and external characteristics
in terms of inclusions. Inclusions are areas within the stone, such
as crystals and breaks, which take away from the visual beauty of
the stone. Blemishes are found on the surface of the stone and include
deep scratches, breaks and chips. When looking for a diamond, you
will want to find a stone that has little or no inclusions and no
exterior blemishes.
Carat Weight.
The standard measurement for diamond weight is the carat. A carat
equals 1/5 of a gram (or 1/142 of an ounce). Each carat is further
divided into points, each point representing 1/100th of a carat. When
choosing a diamond, carat weight is considered to be one of the least
important aspects because a larger stone does not mean that it is
high quality. When looking for a diamond, remember that quantity does
not necessarily mean quality.
The following chart will help in determining the quality of a diamond:
|
*The Carat/Weight chart may not accurately depict the size of a diamond.
